Will 12 years of Wisdom selling on eBay help you become successful?
OK 4 more years have passed now it is 12 years and there is so much "water under the bridge" so to speak. Doing things the hard way seems to be my MO, but I am here to tell you it does not have to be done that way. Twelve years have created insight to what will make you successful selling on eBay. I know, there are tons of books out there, but if you are like me, sometimes I just need some personal one on one to ask a question that is on my mind that I cannot seemed to find in a book. All the headings for chapters do not seem to be where I want to go for answers. I just need to ask a question to someone and get an answer. I get so frustrated when I just need ONE question answered and I get this whole list of FAQ!!!!!Just recently I was teaching a couple of people how to get their business up and running and they were jumping in "full speed ahead". If I had not been there for them on almost a daily basis at first, they would have gotten very discouraged. You see there are so many little "nuances" that can only be discovered with in depth knowledge from experience. It needs to relate to that specific question at that specific time.
Needless to say this is why so many give up on their first try, like I did twelve years ago the first time around. It was not till 6 mos later that I dove in again, but this time it started to click.
You really can make a very good income selling on eBay, but the BIG question is WHAT do I sell and how do I start.
As the internet has evolved so has the knowledge you need to be successful also evolved. Soooo many changes and learning curves to navigate. And now of course Social Media is the big ticket to success. LOL Seriously though there has never been a better time to think about trying your hand at selling on the internet. I personally think the first and best place to start is with eBay. You have the traffic which you need and the ease of listing. Everything is pretty much there to get you started. And there are TONS of videos and post to help you along the way.
My advise is to take it slowly one step at a time, learn the best practices and make sure that you get advise from those who have had success and are still doing it. Many, many out there that offer help "for a fee" but make sure to check out their track record. It is good to buy the right tools for the knowledge but make sure that it fits what you want to do.
Good tips. Glad your ebay business of 12 years is doing well.
